Secondary School

UI/UX designer at Ethiostars
From 2023 to Present at Ethiostars.com, Bole Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
I have started working with Ethiostars on designing and prototyping client platforms from August 2023. My role in the company is to put my design skills in use for showcasing purposes, designing in house software and more. My work platform is mainly Figma, so as to preview work quickly, receive comments and feedback and collaborate easily. So far, I can say that my position is both fulfilling and holds a growth potential as well.
Freelance on Upwork and Guru
From 2022 to Present at Upwork.com and Guru.com
Starting out as a freelancer was tough, especially since I didn't have much to show at the time I was starting. I was working on projects that weren't particularly my specialties, things anyone with a keyboard could do. After a while though, I shifted gears to design jobs, even ones that had lower payment. Now, having had exposure to real world projects and collaborated with individuals from several countries, I can say that I am ready for even bigger projects.
BiT KTS Students Club
From 2022 to 2023 at Bahir dar University, Ethiopia
While this one is more of a campus activity than professional work, I wanted to include it as it highlights what I bring to the table. At KTS (Knowledge and Technology store) I was responsible for spreading the word and getting our club recognized throughout the university. For this end, I and my colleagues organized and hosted several events including a first of it's kind gaming competition and a Tech fair which was even visited by our Scientific Director. I also designed online and print promotion materials.
